How to start a shared conversation routine

A shared conversation routine can start with two small moments a week and one topic for each. The Connection feature in Yhdessä offers an optional four-week experiment for this.
The app suggests conversations of about 15 minutes on two different days each week. The length is a suggestion, not a measured performance. The example below shows how to make room for the goal without a complicated plan.
Before the first week: choose a time that fits
Choose two days when a short break seems possible, such as Tuesday and Saturday. Also agree on what to do if you feel too tired or plans change.
Open Connection, complete the check-in together and start the four-week period. The check-in helps you find topics; you can choose a different theme from the one suggested.
An example week: Tuesday and Saturday
The days in this example are not an app requirement. Pick a rhythm that fits your life.
- On Tuesday, choose a topic and read one card. Take turns answering and listen to each other finish.
- Mark the card as discussed after the conversation. That adds a conversation day.
- On Saturday, return to the earlier thought or choose a new card. You can discuss the same topic again.
- At the end of the week, look at the summary and agree on times for the next week.
How are conversation days counted?
The goal is eight conversation days over four weeks. After starting the period, a day counts when you mark at least one card as discussed. Several cards on the same day still count as one conversation day.
The app does not measure time, listen to your answers or judge conversation quality. The number of discussed cards reflects your marks, not how well your relationship is doing.
If you miss a moment
Choose another day or continue at the next time you agreed on. You do not need to make up a missed conversation by rushing through lots of cards.
If the goal feels like a burden, talk about what would suit you better. One quiet question now and then may be the way you prefer to use the game.
After four weeks: reflect together
Ask each other what felt good, what was difficult and what you would like to continue. This is your own reflection, not an assessment made by the app.
Repeat the check-in if you want to update your own view of where you need conversation support. Its snapshot does not change automatically as conversation days add up.
- What helped us make time together?
- Which topic would we like to return to?
- What small habit do we want to keep?
