How to start a relaxed conversation round
Choose one question and let everyone who wants to answer take a turn before moving on. Take turns reading, too. There is no need to compare answers, and anyone can pass without explaining why.

A short answer is welcome. Give people time to think and avoid answering for someone else. You could agree to offer advice only when the person speaking asks for it.
If some people are meeting for the first time, start with everyday topics. You do not have to talk about intimate subjects or personal worries for the evening to go well.
